Thought I'd better do another fall post quick since I've officially got the holiday bug after buying my first Christmas decorations of the year (the Tord Boontje stuff at Target of course, I couldn't resist).
- I helped my mom make 44 centerpieces for a fall themed fundraiser her work held.
- We saw Farmer Mike's amazing pumpkin carving skills again this year at the Half Moon Bay pumpkin festival.
- Apple tart with oatmeal topping for Greg (which he didn't fully appreciate as he apparently likes his apple tarts sans oatmeal).
- I've been doing lots of cooking as I always am - tonight's dinner was citrus marinated chicken and fontina and mascarpone baked pasta, both from Cooking Light, and both delish (hopefully CL will fix the links).

Sorry for the longish absences between posts. My good camera has been sent out for repairs and I finally got it back 6 weeks later and they forgot to include the battery! Craft-wise besides the centerpieces I've been working on paperbag journals (as inspired by
RockPaperScissors) for a few holiday gifts and I love them so far which is a surprise because I'm not usually so good with paper stuff. I'll share my progress soon. And also pictures from wine country this weekend, it almost felt like being back on the east coast with all the colored leaves up in Sonoma county.
Also in line with the start of holiday gift making (only how many weeks left?) I'm playing around with
this tool which turns your photos into those calendar pages you can fit into a jewel case. Link, along with other great ideas for turning your photos into gifts, from
Heather.
Greg and I are off to Tahoe this weekend for his very first visit ever which is crazy since we've been out here over 5 years now; then Moose finally gets neutered right before Thanksgiving (
if he gains back the weight he lost this past week from puking ten thousand times all over every surface in our house); and then between Christmas and New Years we've decided to go to Florida since we aren't going over Thanksgiving (where we will do what we do on every FL trip - hang with Greg's mom, see his little bro, get tattooed and chill with our good friends, and see some hockey).
As far as I'm concerned, I might as well welcome in 2007 right now and just be done with it!
