Made a new strap for my camera and took shitty photos of it using my phone since the strap is literally sewed onto the camera. After the one that came with the camera broke, I sewed on a piece of embroidered trim to use as a strap, but it's always bothered me since the back of the trim was unfinished with all the little strings everywhere. Inspired by this.

This is the (early) birthday present I got for myself. I have wanted one for years and I am so happy to have it. Shasta trip was even better than last year. We did a lot of swimming, but also explored caves, made fires (sort of, there was a lot of smoke), went on our own safari rides, and ate breakfast at the same place every morning. Broke out the toxic glass etching cream to make a gift for a retiring coworker. Forgot how easily you can impress non-crafty types with this stuff. I've never gotten into a costume and met 50 other similarly dressed people downtown at 7:30am on a Sunday to start drinking lots of beer and participate in a race before. Bugs was back yet again last month. After about a week our neighbor finally came to collect him saying that he figured Bugs had been in our yard the whole time.
